Statement of Faith
HAVING PUT

제1조 성경 (The Scriptures)
우리는 구약과 신약 66권으로 이루어진 성경이 성령의 영감으로 기록된 하나님의 말씀임을 믿는다. 성경은 원본에 있어서
오류가 없으며 믿음과 삶의 모든 문제에 대한 최종적이고 절대적인 권위이다.
(디모데후서 3:16–17, 베드로후서 1:20–21)
제2조 삼위일체 하나님 (The Triune God)
우리는 오직 한 분 하나님을 믿으며, 하나님은 영원히 성부, 성자, 성령 세 위격 으로 존재하신다.
세 위격은 본질과 능력과 영광에 있어서 동일하시며 한 하나님이시다.
(신명기 6:4, 마태복음 28:19, 고린도후서 13:13)
제3조 성부 하나님 (God the Father)
우리는 하나님 아버지께서 만물을 창조하시고 모든 것을 다스리시는 분이심을 믿는다. 그는 자신의 뜻과 계획에 따라 세상을
통치하시며 그의 자녀들을 사랑으로 돌보신다.
(창세기 1:1, 에베소서 1:3–6)
제4조 성자 예수 그리스도 (God the Son, Jesus Christ)
우리는 예수 그리스도가 하나님의 영원한 아들이며 완전한 하나님이시며 동시에 완전한 인간이심을 믿는다. 그는 성령으로 잉태되어 동정녀 마리아에게서 태어나셨다. 예수님은 죄 없는 삶을 사셨으며 십자가에서 우리의 죄를 위한 완전한 희생 제물이 되셨다.
그는 죽은 자 가운데서 육체로 부활하셨고 하늘에 승천하셔서 지금 하나님 우편에서 다스리신다.

제5조 성령 하나님 (God the Holy Spirit)
우리는 성령께서 세상으로 하여금 죄와 의와 심판에 대하여 깨닫게 하시며 사람들을 회개와 믿음으로 인도하심을 믿는다.
성령은 모든 신자 안에 거하시며 거룩한 삶을 살도록 능력을 주시고 교회를 세우기 위해 영적 은사를 나누어 주신다.
(요한복음 16:8–13, 사도행전 1:8, 고린도전서 12:4–7)
제6조 인간과 죄 (Humanity and Sin)
우리는 인간이 하나님의 형상대로 창조되었음을 믿는다.
그러나 인간의 불순종으로 인해 죄가 세상에 들어왔고 그 결과 하나님과의 관계가 단절되었다. 모든 사람은 죄 가운데
태어나며 하나님의 구원이 필요하다.
(창세기 1:26–27, 로마서 3:23, 로마서 5:12)
제7조 구원 (Salvation)
우리는 구원이 하나님의 은혜로 주어지는 선물이며 오직 예수 그리스도를 믿는 믿음을 통해 받는 것임을 믿는다.
예수님의 십자가 죽음과 부활을 통해 죄 사함과 하나님과의 화해가 이루어진다. 구원은 인간의 행위로 얻어지는 것이 아니라
하나님의 은혜로 받는다. (에베소서 2:8–9, 로마서 10:9–10)
제8조 교회 (The Church)
우리는 교회가 예수 그리스도의 몸이며 예수 그리스도를 믿는 모든 신자의 공동체임을 믿는다. 지역 교회는 하나님을 예배하고,
복음을 전하며, 제자를 세우고, 세상을 섬기도록 부르심을 받았다.
(에베소서 1:22–23, 사도행전 2:42–47)
제9조 교회의 성례 (Ordinances of the Church)
세례 (Baptism): 세례는 예수 그리스도를 믿는 신자가 그 믿음을 공개적으로 고백하며 그리스도의 죽음과 부활에
연합되었음을 나타내는 표징이다. (로마서 6:3–4, 마태복음 28:19)
성찬 (The Lord’s Supper): 성찬은 예수 그리스도의 희생을 기념하며 주님께서 다시 오실 때까지 그의 죽음을 선포하는
거룩한 예식이다. (고린도전서 11:23–26)
제10조 그리스도의 재림 (The Return of Christ)
우리는 예수 그리스도께서 다시 오실 것을 믿는다.
그의 재림 때에 세상은 심판을 받게 되며 하나님 나라의 완전한 통치가 이루어질 것이다.
(사도행전 1:11, 마태복음 25:31–32)
제11조 영원한 삶 (Eternal Destiny)
우리는 예수 그리스도를 믿는 자는 하나님과 함께 영원한 생명을 누리게 되며 그를 거부하는 자는 하나님과 영원히 분리됨을 믿는다.
(요한복음 3:16, 요한계시록 20:11–15)
제12조 성경적 결혼과 성 (Marriage and Sexuality)
우리는 하나님께서 결혼을 한 남자와 한 여자 사이의 언약적 관계로 제정하셨음을 믿는다.
결혼은 하나님께서 창조 질서 안에서 세우신 거룩한 제도이며, 남편과 아내의 연합을 통해 하나님의 사랑과 신실하심을
나타내도록 의도되었다.
성경에 따르면 하나님께서 정하신 결혼 관계 안에서의 성적 관계만이 거룩하며, 모든 성적 행동은 성경적 결혼 관계
안에서만 이루어져야 한다고 믿는다.
또한 우리는 하나님께서 인간을 남성과 여성 두 성별로 창조하셨으며, 이 성별은 하나님께서 주신 선물이며 창조 질서의
일부임을 믿는다.
그러므로 교회는 성경의 가르침에 따라 결혼과 성에 대한 하나님의 뜻을 사랑과 진리 가운데 가르치고 지킬 책임이 있다.

제13조 교회의 사명 (Mission of the Church)
우리는 교회의 궁극적인 사명이 하나님을 영화롭게 하고 예수 그리스도의 복음을 세상에 전하는 것임을 믿는다.
예수 그리스도께서 교회에 주신 지상명령에 따라 교회는 하나님을 예배하고 복음을 선포하며 제자를 세우고 성도들을
말씀과 성령 안에서 성장하도록 세우며 세상을 향해 그리스도의 사랑과 진리를 증거하도록 부르심을 받았다.
교회는 성령의 능력 안에서 그리스도의 몸을 세우고 세상 가운데 하나님 나라를 드러내는 공동체이다.

Article 1 – The Scriptures:
We believe that the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired Word of God, written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit.
The Bible is truth without error in its original writings and is the final authority for faith, doctrine, and Christian living.
(2 Timothy 3:16–17; 2 Peter 1:20–21)
Article 2 – The Triune God
We believe in one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three Persons are equal in essence, power, and glory and together are one God.
(Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14)
Article 3 – God the Father
We believe that God the Father is the Creator and Sustainer of all things.
He is sovereign over all creation and governs all things according to His perfect will.
He lovingly cares for His children and faithfully fulfills His redemptive purposes.
(Genesis 1:1; Ephesians 1:3–6)
Article 4 – God the Son, Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God who became fully human while remaining fully divine. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary.
Jesus lived a sinless life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of the world through His death on the cross.
He rose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, and now reigns at the right hand of the Father as Lord and Savior.
(John 1:1–14; Colossians 1:15–20; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4)
Article 5 – God the Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Trinity who convicts the world of sin and brings people to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ.
He indwells every believer, empowers them for holy living, and distributes spiritual gifts for the building up of the Church.
(John 16:8–13; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 12:4–7)
Article 6 – Humanity and Sin
We believe that humanity was created in the image of God and originally existed in fellowship with Him. However, through disobedience and sin, humanity fell and became separated from God. As a result, all people are sinners by nature and by choice and are in need of salvation.
(Genesis 1:26–27; Romans 3:23; Romans 5:12)
Article 7 – Salvation
We believe that salvation is the gracious gift of God and is received through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ alone. Through His atoning death and victorious resurrection, believers are forgiven of their sins and reconciled to God.
Salvation is not earned by human effort but is received by grace through faith.
(Ephesians 2:8–9; Romans 10:9–10)
Article 8 – The Church
We believe that the universal Church is the body of Christ, composed of all believers who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ.
The local church is a gathering of believers committed to worship, fellowship, discipleship, service, and the proclamation of the gospel to the world.
(Ephesians 1:22–23; Acts 2:42–47)
Article 9 – Ordinances of the Church
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ established two ordinances for the Church.
Baptism – the public testimony of a believer’s faith in Jesus Christ and identification with His death
and resurrection. (Romans 6:3–4; Matthew 28:19)
The Lord’s Supper – a sacred remembrance of Christ’s sacrifice and a proclamation of His death
until He returns. (1 Corinthians 11:23–26)
Article 10 – The Return of Christ
We believe in the personal and visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ.
At His return, Christ will judge the living and the dead and establish the fullness of His kingdom.
(Acts 1:11; Matthew 25:31–32)
Article 11 – Eternal Destiny
We believe that those who place their faith in Jesus Christ will experience eternal life in the presence of God. Those who reject Christ will experience eternal separation from God.
(John 3:16; Revelation 20:11–15)
Article 12 – Marriage and Sexuality
We believe that God has ordained marriage as a covenant relationship between one man and one woman.
Marriage is a sacred institution established by God in creation and is intended to reflect the faithful and loving union between Christ and His Church.
According to Scripture, sexual intimacy is designed by God to be expressed only within the covenant of marriage between a man and a woman.
We further believe that God created humanity male and female, and that these two distinct but complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God.
Therefore, the Church is called to uphold and teach God’s design for marriage, sexuality, and gender with both truth and love, according to the authority of Scripture.

Article 13 – The Mission of the Church
We believe that the ultimate mission of the Church is to glorify God by proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ and making disciples of all nations.
In obedience to the Great Commission given by Jesus Christ, the Church is called to:
Worship God
Proclaim the gospel
Make disciples
Build up believers in spiritual maturity
Serve others in love
Bear witness to the kingdom of God in the world
Empowered by the Holy Spirit, the Church exists to build up the body of Christ and to make the saving message of Jesus Christ known to all people.
